MAGHRAS: A Farm for Experimentation

Milan 2026

Launched on 1 February 2026, Maghras: A Farm for Experimentation brings together months of research, documentation of programming, and wider conversations on agriculture, infrastructure, and intangible heritage. The publication is available for purchase through Kaph Books and selected bookstores internationally, as well as online.

Structured through a series of commissioned illustrations that set the rhythm of the book, the publication traces a story of Al Ahsa through the entanglements of ecology, community, craft, water infrastructure, and history. With oral history as a central research methodology, the book engages storytelling alongside critical reflections from the Maghras team and invited regional practitioners.

DESIRED LANDSCAPES / Issue 01

Greece 2018

Desired landscapes exist in our fantasies. They are postcards depicting distant vistas – unvisited or perhaps unforgettable. Projections of possible homes, of streets yet to be discovered and of urban clichés to be demystified. This magazine is all about that. It explores the sense of a place. It is a collection of person-to-place bonds, urban observations and poetic snapshots.

Issue 1 takes you to ATHENS – TOKYO – MUNICH – ISTANBUL – LOS ANGELES – BEIRUT – LONDON – KUWAIT – BERLIN – MOSCOW – PARIS

DESIRED LANDSCAPES / Issue 04

Greece 2020

Travel without traveling. This magazine came out from the urge to create a vehicle for just that. As an unfortunate surprise, that became even more relevant during Covid-19 days. Instead of designing maps of routes, we now count walking distances, to see who are we allowed to see. With this issue, we rethought walking, the hotel, online meetings and telepathy. Sometimes, the experience of reading a text about a city can be more enlightening than an actual visit. And a city's image can be more rewarding.

Issue 4 takes you to BUDAPEST – VILNIUS – ALGIERS – KUWAIT – ATHENS – LISBON – VIENNA – BUENOS AIRES – ANAFI – NEW YORK
